More douchebags.

So I’m browsing the daily headlines and I see that many of the passengers of the Hudson River bound US Airways jet are upset about the compensation they’ve been given by the airline. Â Apparently, they all got $5000 for lost luggage, with the potential for more, and free first class upgrades for one year. Â ANd some of them are unhappy. Â I’d say they’re missing the bigger picture.
I’m sure some of the passengers, perhaps most, are more than happy with what US Airways provided them. Â Namely, their lives. Â But those who think they deserve more represent everything that is wrong with this country. Â People who did nothing, accomplished nothing, created nothing, produced nothing, that think they deserve a free ride for the rest of their lives because they experienced some bad luck. Â ”I’ve been inconvenienced and very scared while the customer of a huge corporation so I’m owed millions.” Â What US Airways provided them wasn’t just five large and a few nice seats in first class. Â The biggest thing it gave them was an incredibly competent pilot, co-pilot, and crew without any of whom they would all be dead.
I’ve had it with these types. Â They’re everywhere now. Â All looking for a free ride they didn’t earn. Â Hey, I’m sorry your plane hit a flock of geese and you were probably utterly terrified for ten minutes. Â That sucks. Â I would not have handled it well, that’s for sure. Â I hate to fly as it is so I would’ve been a wreck. Â But I also wouldn’t think I deserved any financial payout or free flights for the rest of my life just because I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Â You know why? Â Because I’m not a douchebag.
