No, I’m not done yelling yet.

Just came across another load of horseshit from the Clinton campaign about the whole Michigan and Florida debacle and this came to mind: Are there really people in those states who wouldn’t vote Democratic because of this disaster? Seriously? The choice to disallow the state’s delegates because they moved up the convention wasn’t made by Obama ferchrissakes. It wasn’t made by Clinton either,(although her chief strategist was one of the ones who voted to punish the states when they first moved their primaries up.) And both sides, hell all sides, Edwards, Biden, Dodd, Kucinich, Richardson, agreed that they would not campaign in those states and that the result wouldn’t count. see here:
Hillary says Michigan election “won’t count for anything.”
and no, I don’t know how to embed video on my own page. I will try to figure it out soon. What I honestly don’t understand, is why anyone is still listening to this candidate?
And why is there this belief that if the delegates aren’t seated, the Democrats are certain to lose those states in the General in November? Maybe I’m naiive but I don’t really see the connection. And while we’re on the subject of the General, what the hell is up with polls showing Obama and McSame as, essentially, tied? Have the 45% who support McCain just been sleeping for the last seven and a half years? Shouldn’t it be more like 80/20 or 90/10? How many people who say they will vote for McSame will be voting drastically against their own interests if they do so? Unless you make at least $150k/year (at LEAST), you are going to better of financially with Obama. If McCain wins, that’s it. What do you get? You get War with Iran. You get an ideologically fucked Supreme Court for many years that will almost certainly overturn Roe V. Wade and god knows what else. You get more tax cuts for people and corporations who don’t need them. More cowboy diplomacy lunacy, which quite clearly doesn’t work. Not talking to your enemies is a sing of weakness, folks. It simply doesn’t work. You get more “Abstinence only” education in schools which also doesn’t work. You get the end of science as we know it and in it’s place you get, if you’re lucky “intelligent design” and more likely you get the world being only 6000 years old. I could go on, but I’m too tired of it all right now. Why do Republicans hate America so much?

For the longest time I thought the people telling pollsters that they’d vote for McCain if they can’t have Hillary were petulant morons who would cool down and come around come November. While certainly that is true of some of them, this video convinced me that - tragically - there are some who have before, and will again, vote against their own interests because they are just too fucking backwards and ignorant to do anything else:

Scary shit, man.
