The Beautiful Day Foundation

Last week I attended a launch event for a wonderful charity called the Beautiful Day Foundation. The foundation is a not for profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and providing breast cancer education to young women across the globe. The organization was founded by a new friend of mine, Christiaan Rollich, whose wife was diagnosed at age 28. Christiaan has done an amazing job building the foundation from scratch and the evening was a tremendous success.
I met Christiaan just a few weeks ago while attending an acting showcase several friends of mine were in. Christiaan did an amazing piece of work with the woman who will be my costar in my upcoming production of Burn This and I met him and learned of his foundation at the event’s after-party. I was immediately moved by his dedication to both his craft and to his efforts to educate young women about the risks he knows about all too well. As this disease is something that has touched my own family, I wanted to offer whatever small amount of help I could and it was an honor to donate a License Plate Map of the USA to the event’s silent auction.
It was a great evening at the Air Conditioned Room in Venice where hundreds of people gathered to enjoy delicious appetizers, drinks, and to bid on a terrific assortment of items in the silent auction fundraiser. I took lots of pics but apparently lost my digital camera somewhere between the event and home so you’ll have to take my word for it. Please visit the group’s webpage at www.beautifuldayfoundation.org and learn about their important cause and what you can do to help.
